I’m a writer who reads a lot. I also make little films. I live in an old rowhouse in Baltimore (aka Charm City) with my charming wife and our three wonderful cats.
What project are you working on at the moment?
I just finished putting together a manuscript for the postcard life story project that I’ve been working on for a little over a year.
What are you working on at the moment?
Right now, I’m finishing up a short film (with my friend Luca Dipierro) called I Will Smash You. And I’m starting a new book.
What is the most important thing you’ve learnt this year?
The postcard life story project taught me that everybody is amazing. Everybody has something amazing to tell you. You just have to ask the right questions.
What are you reading at the moment?
I’m rereading some stories in The Apocalypse Reader, a wonderful anthology of stories about the end times, edited by Justin Taylor.
How many books do you read a month?
I read a few books at a time and finish a few books a week, so I’m going to say 12.
What would people be surprised to learn about you?
I look exactly like my author photo.
What are your pets called?
Wulf, Moose, El Ducque.
What is your earliest memory?
Drawing on the walls of my bedroom with crayons.
How do you relax?
I ride my mountain bike on all the hidden green trails in Baltimore.
What’s your guiltiest pleasure?
I love sugar – especially in the form of doughnuts, cake, pie, cookies, or Coke.
What’s the worst job you’ve ever had?
I was the night clerk at a 7-11 one summer. It was the worst job I ever had, but it was also pretty great sometimes.

Fiona Robyn is a thoughtful and moving writer who has a great sense of human emotion.
